So schedules didn't work out for a Saturday run so I hooked up with a bunch of friends. They usually run on Sundays up in the trails. I didn't want to do trails, but when I found out that they were doing 18 on the road I thought it would be good. Felt pretty good the entire time, hips/pelvis hurt a bit towards the end. This run came down the canyon that the marathon starts up. But we started much farther up the canyon. Lots of down hill, you can see by my laps.

The run yesterday really took it out of my legs. I don't understand what I did differently. Maybe it's because I usually run on Saturday, have Sunday off then run again. But I just didn't have it in me to run, so I did 5 miles on the eliptical at the gym, did lots of stretching. I hope tomorrow I will feel better.

So I really had not expectation of what my run today was going to be like. My quads are still rather stiff, so I thought I would just take it as it came. The first mile was a bit on the painful side, but as I kept moving it got better and better until I can say that I actually enjoyed most of the run. I ran the upper part of the park way and was surprised to see that the river has overflowed the underpass at Washington Blvd. last time it was about to my knees, this time I'd say it would have been about to my shoulders if I had went under there. I don't know if they will be able to clear that much water my the marathon. They have had to divert the runners in past years. It's really not that big of deal, but I'll try to keep you posted.

Seen my regulars on the path, and a new regular. An older couple, the man has a braid like Willy Neilson, kind of looks like him too. But I have yet to get them to smile or wave at me like my other regulars LOL.

Only a couple of draw backs on my run... I had grabbed my trail runners, when I packed my gym bag in the morning. I thought it was going to bug me, but I had not trouble. Then there was one guy that had a huge husky looking dog on the longest leash I have ever seen. It was not one of the retracktable ones, it was just super long. I thought to myself ...what is the purpose of such a long leash. The dog could attack some one in the next county and he could do anything, it would take him forever to pull all the leash in. I had to run off the path and in the bushes to stay away from the dog. Some people !!!

Had to do a shorter run today to get home in time for the appraiser to get to our house. Not bad though because I really was not planning on doing a very long run anyway. On my way to get onto the parkway I ran into a couple that were running the last few miles of the marathon to see the course. I talked to them for a bit, showed them were to turn to get onto the parkway, then I turned to run down as they ran up it. The river is just inches away from flooding out under Wall Ave. Man I can't believe all the water.

Two nights of not enough sleep. Not bad, but I usually need more. Was very sluggish tonight, but after a bit felt a bit better. Ran the parkway and seem most of the regulars, plus the one guy with the rubber shirt again, still don't understand the deal with the shirt. The plan was for 8, but somewhere I must have made a different turn somewhere. When I got to the end just didn't want to do anymore. Not going to run tomorrow, but have plans for 12 on Saturday. My running friend is going to run 6 with me.

No running today, since I'm starting to taper... and I ran on Sunday this week I thought I'd take the day off. Hope to get some work done on the sculptures I have been working on.

Yougest daughter got home last night from the vacation she was taking with my oldest daughters family. My husband and son looked after their house a few times while they were gone. They have a cat, and also my husband is doing some work on their house. Anyway the first day he went down, he came home to tell me they couldn't find the cat. I was so worried, she is usually an inside and the house was locked up so I couldn't think of where she might be. I was worried that she might have gotten shut in a room or stuck in a vent or something. Same thing when he went down the second time. Now I was really worried. The thought that the grandkids would come home and find a dead pet, or that they never found her again was starting to scare me. So I went to get youngest daughter last night. First thing oldest granddaughter tells me is that they can't find the cat. My heart sank, I tried to console her but all were pretty sad. We stood by the door and talked about the trip for a few minutes, and just as I was about to leave the cat came bolting through the door! We were all so happy, she must have ran out of the house as they were packing to leave and because it was dark they didn't see her. She is a bit thinner but nothing to bad. All-in-all I'm happy everything turned out OK.

Well I had some serious sleep issues last night. I don't really know what the problem was, just could not get to sleep, then when I did sleep is was a restless kind of sleep. Must be a bit of tamper madness LOL. So I ran a little over 6 around the neighborhood, then meet up with my running friend for another 6. You can see by the laps that it really helped me to run with her. When I was alone I just could not get myself moving! Now all the worry sets in... is this they way I will feel at the marathon? Am I going to be able to sleep better? AGHHH!! Well I'm just going to let go of this run... it is what it is... and move on :)

Well since I was asked to run the Ragnar again in a few weeks. (a man at work had a runner drop) I guess this will help with sleep deprivation training :) Oh and I get the opportunity to run the same legs I ran last year. The bottom of the big hill (Guardmans Pass). And I'm so lucky... they added 4 miles to my night run!!! Yeppy sounds like fun! (I hope you are feeling my sarcasim)
