So I really had not expectation of what my run today was going to be like. My quads are still rather stiff, so I thought I would just take it as it came. The first mile was a bit on the painful side, but as I kept moving it got better and better until I can say that I actually enjoyed most of the run. I ran the upper part of the park way and was surprised to see that the river has overflowed the underpass at Washington Blvd. last time it was about to my knees, this time I'd say it would have been about to my shoulders if I had went under there. I don't know if they will be able to clear that much water my the marathon. They have had to divert the runners in past years. It's really not that big of deal, but I'll try to keep you posted.

Seen my regulars on the path, and a new regular. An older couple, the man has a braid like Willy Neilson, kind of looks like him too. But I have yet to get them to smile or wave at me like my other regulars LOL.

Only a couple of draw backs on my run... I had grabbed my trail runners, when I packed my gym bag in the morning. I thought it was going to bug me, but I had not trouble. Then there was one guy that had a huge husky looking dog on the longest leash I have ever seen. It was not one of the retracktable ones, it was just super long. I thought to myself ...what is the purpose of such a long leash. The dog could attack some one in the next county and he could do anything, it would take him forever to pull all the leash in. I had to run off the path and in the bushes to stay away from the dog. Some people !!!

Gotta love a run where you started out with tightness and ended with great feeling and fast pace. GREAT RUN! Sorry about the long leash husky!

The sudden warm weather must have speed up the snow run-offs. I hope we don't have a heat-wave like we did the last two years for Ogden this year.

Smooth, yep, I really didn't think my legs would loosen up and feel good... so it was great! to have it happen.

I'll have to Ditto Marion!!

Hey, I'm excited to hang after Ogden...anything I can do to help out?

Nice run btw - look at those AWESOME negative splits!!! Are you running the full or 1/2 at Ogden?

From Metcalf Running on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 13:47:12 from 207.225.192.66

RAD I'm running the full... so crazy... I'm always start doubting my ability to finish when it starts to get so close. Even after six marathons, I still can't believe I can run that far.

Are bushes dog-proof?

From snoqualmie on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 14:59:26 from 67.171.56.164

Glad you got through the run. There will be some major muscle building going on in those legs this week!

I saw my regular today and a lot of new people. I got off the sidewalk three times today. Twice for dogs and once for a double baby stroller. Another guy pushing a baby in a single stroller came by and I stayed on. It was cute because the baby was waving at me.

From Metcalf Running on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 15:32:25 from 207.225.192.66

Monte, bushes are not dog proof... but at least they don't bite me.

Sno, I hope you are right!

Burt, it's fun to have regulars. They probably think I'm crazy, waving and smiling at them. But it helps to pass my time. Babies waving is the best!

I remember being diverted 2 or 3 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this year because of all the snow melt mixed with rain.
