| | Sue and I ran the parkway section by her house... then down to 21street pond and back. This is the longest I have run since my surgery on my knee. It felt good...but I was so slow and it really took it out of me. Hopefully things will get better. |

Reading back through some of my posts and comments, it has become very clear that I have not been participating here much... Sorry Burt. I think Burt is the only one that checks on me any more. I have been a bit overwhelmed with life in general lately... I really love all of you guys here but things are getting a bit crazy and it seems that blogging about my miles is the something that is suffering. I don't think anything will change anytime soon so I'm sorry. I am still running as much as I can (5-6 days a week) (average between 20-30 miles) I'm hoping to be ready for the Moab half but it's unlikely. I will probably have the worst 1/2 time yet. But Hubby will be with me and I'm just hoping to have a good time with him and not get hurt!! for eaither of us.
I will try to check back more often, but I don't know how much that will be. Take care :) |

It didn't feel as ggod as last week and I don't think it was the rain. Hubby ran his 10... 9 minutes faster then last week. Sue and I were at the exact time. I thought because I felt so crummy we would be even slower. |

I didn't run yesterday because my hip was achy and I was hoping a day off would help it. I ending up tripping within the first 10 yards of our run and landing right on my hip and knee. Crud!! I brushed myself off and finished the run. Luckily my hip didn't bug too much. On a slight taper before the 1/2 next weekend. Beautiful Day!!!
We averaged about a 9:30 pace... so I think I'm getting a tiny bit of speed back..LOL |

My boss is out all week so I was able to get a quick run in on my lunch :) I hope to be able to do this most of the week. Even though I'm on a slight taper before the Moab 1/2 this weekend.
Had PKR a couple of weeks ago because my vision had changed quite a bit since my Lasik proceedure 5 years ago. I am still not seeing clear and am wondering if this was a good idea... I need positive thought and prayers that my vision will clear soon. They said it could take up to 5 weeks. So I'm not at full panic yet. |

Ran on my lunch break at work. About 1/2 way through I was in a considerable amount of pain. Fet like my hip needed to pop but wouldn't. Had kind of a catchy feel to it and pain. I walked a bit but still averaged a 9:04 mm. Hurt the rest of the day and night and even this morning.
Feeling very depressed right now. I fear what I am going to be told when I see the doctor on Tuesday. I don't know if I will run any more before then. Do I hope for a stress fracture, because in time it will heal? I am pretty certain with osteoarthritis (wear and tear arthritus) they will tell me to stop running. I have been crying most of the night (can't sleep). Please just keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I really don't know if I can handle this. |

So I have not been running but have been on the elliptical a bit.
Had my MRI and went to the doctor last night to read the results. He confirmed a stress fracture so to speak. He could not see an actual fracture but both of the bones that lead from the hip to the pubic bone were inflamed (White) not a good color on an MRI. So I will be going to PT for hip and core stability and strenghting. I asked when I could run again and he said maybe July. There was also excessive fluid in my hip joints, He was not certain what this is from.
Really trying to be positive... it could have been arthitis... that would have been worse. But have to say it has me rather down... really trying not to cry too much. I will try to keep you posted on my progress. |

| | I have been cleared to run again and have been out on the road a few times. I am considerably slower then I was before and it has been a bit discoraging to see how much fitness I lost. When I ran Saturday with Sue for an hour... I think we got 6 miles in just under an hour. I could really start feeling some twinges in my hip. I don't think I am completely recovered so I will have to take it slow and make sure I don't re injure. I will try to keep you posted. |

Ran around a cenetary by the hotel we were staying at. I can't remember the city now, it was a long 3 1/2 days of driving across the contry. There were fire flies in the cemetary... nice to know that even in another state there are runners that think like me and run around in a cemetary. So I was hurting pretty bad after the 9 miles on Saturday with Sue. It is the pelvic stress facture point and also the bad knee... don't really know why all of sudden I am hurting again but it was VERY painful Saturday and Sunday.
Took it easy on Monday and jsut did some elliptical and weights.
The pain was tollerable and I thought I could get a run in... probably should not have done this run because I was hurting again. :( |
