WRC (13.1 Miles) 01:57:21, Place in age division: 11 | | Ran the WRC half marathon. Got stitches in my side at mile 7 - 8. Totally bonked at mile ten, felt like total crap. Finished in 1:57:21. I thought for sure I would be over 2. |

I did 20 minutes of upper body lifting. Then ran 3 miles at a 7.5 - 8.5 incline. (still getting ready for the rely) lowered the incline to 0 and ran at 7.2 speed. I love the way 0 incline feels after the hills. I think I'm flying :) |

| | Even a good night sleep was not helpful today. Maybe I had too much sleep? :( Anyway my friend and I ran the parkway from mouth of the canyon to the Fort, around in the Fort just a bit, and back. I really thought I would have felt better today. I have been eating better, sleeping better. But I still struggled. I'm feeling very discouraged right now. I thought I was mentally and physically a stronger person but lately I have been feeling very weak both mentally and physically when it comes to my running. Maybe I need to have my thyroid medicine adjusted. I go every 6 months, but my next appointment is not until July. I also wonder am I using this as an excuse for my lack of drive? Even when I'm tired on my run, I think through my head, does my feet hurt? No. Does anything really hurt? No, then why am I struggling? I miss my friend Scott who was the person that got me running. Anyway, I feel pretty good now, I can do all the things I need to get done, I'm a bit stiff when I bend for a long period weeding in the garden, but nothing bad. So then I start thinking should I have pushed myself harder? Isn't running supposed to be fun, what ever happened to the runs when you felt like you could go all day, that everything felt good, strong. Well sorry for venting so much, but this is my day.

I think after sleeping so long on Friday, I could not sleep last night. Tossed and turned all night, I put that I slept 5 hours but it was probably more like 31/2.
Ran 6.5 in 62:20

WRC 30K (18.64 Miles) 02:58:20, Place in age division: 6
It was 2:58:2? Can't remember the seconds. I will edit when Striders posts the time. Well all I can say is YAHOOOO! I was very happy to finish feeling as good as I do. After a terrible half a few weeks ago... this was wonderful. I'm realizing now that restricting my calories in hopes to loose some weight is not good before running a race. It is hard though to want to loose that last 10-15 pounds knowing that running will be much easier and better for my body in the long run. But I'm certain that this was my down fall on the half. I eat much better the past few weeks and made sure I was drinking plenty and it defiantly showed in how I felt. I could not have asked for better weather. Not too hot... not too cold. I thought the course was good. Loved running by the horses and watching them chase us by the fence. It was almost like they were saying... watch, I'll show you how to do this and how much fun running is. They were fantastic! For me, I love to run when the sun is at my back. As my friend and I were running I would watch our shadows, and think to myself how great it was to be there with her, both feeling strong. Also congratulations to the top three men, all with their Fast Running Blog shirts on. That was fun to see. Well my time and my body don't show it... but in my heart and mind... today I was a Kenyan!

| | Had to sleep over at my Mother's house to take care of her, so is was not a good nights sleep. But I was able to get in a 7 mile run. I finished in 1:04:50. Today was one of those days when I had frustrations and anxiety of things in my life right now. When I get this way I want to run as long and as hard as I can, almost self punishment. Hmmm I think I need to work on this. |

I didn't get a run in today. My oldest son is graduating from the U tonight, and due to my lack of sleep all week I did not get up early enough to run before work. Is it too late to run 21 miles this Saturday, then taper next two weeks before the marathon? This is one of those things that I'm really bad at knowing what to do. There is always that voice in the back of my mind that I have not run enough to be ready.
My running friend pulled her groin muscle so she has now back out of running the marathon with me. I'm very sad that I will be there without her, we are so closely matched that we are right by each other when we run. It just won't be the same running it without her :(
I live in Pleasant View.. if anyone needs a place to crash let me know I have a spare room. (twin bed) or the floor if you have a sleeping bag... or even the couch. |

Ogden Marathon (26.2 Miles) 04:02:08, Place overall: 583, Place in age division: 15 | | I meet up with an old running friend I had not seen in a while. We ran the whole marathon together and it was a great day!!!! I think if I had not had some tummy trouble at around mile 20-22 (Had to stop for a potty break) I might have been able to get under 4. But all in all I can't complain. Had a great day. Congratulations to all you speed freaks here on the blog. You are so inspiring!! |

I'm feeling good after the marathon, I could run a few today if I had the time... but I have to give a bridal shower tonight right after work... then there is all the other stuff that once you get home you can never get away from. Didn't sleep well again last night. I don't know why sometimes I just wake-up at 1 or 2 am and can't go back to sleep. Running hurt today, I was able to get 6 mile in 55:40, but I think I need some new shoes, I checked my miles and I have about 440 so I think I will try to get some new ones this weekend. Maybe that will help, but I think it was just one of those days. |

| | I really wanted to have a good run today, because the weather is just as I like it. Nice and cool, a little overcast. But that was not the case. Everything felt bad today. I hoped that it would all start feeling better after a couple of miles but not today. I hate to even post my miles and time today because they are so bad. But I probably would have turned around alot sooner if I didn't have the blog to post on. Maybe it's just after marathon blues... or hormones... I think I also need new shoes. I ran 6.5 in 1:03:41 (that is embarrassing) but there you have it... and everything still hurts...How can you get yourself mentally stronger when you have days like this. It is very discouraging. But there it is for the world to see. All I can do now is not dwell on it and hope that Monday is better.

| | Today was a hard day, felt like I was running with weights around my feet the entire run. I didn't plot out my miles before I ran, I think I just didn't like the thought of miles today. So I thought I will just go and run for a while and see how I feel. I wanted to try the big hill close to my house. I know that one of the legs I have to run in the relay has a big hill so I think I need to start doing more hills. When I came home and went out on may my run to see how far I did I was disappointed I knew that I was having a hard time today but my time proves it. I have to admit that I did have to stop and walk a few times, especially on the hill. I hope I can start feeling better soon. 7.37 in 1:18:25 |

I got a good nights sleep but I'm still not feeling 100%. I supposed to have my six month check with my endro. next month, but I think I will call and try to get in sooner. I'm pretty certain that my medication needs some tweeking. When I start wanting to be put in a medeval streatching machine I know that I need some adjusting. :)
I'm running the Wasatch Back Relay with a team here from work and I'm starting to get a bit worried. One of my legs is pretty tough. Our team is not competative, but I still don't want to hold them back. I'm thinking about maybe doing Top of Utah in September.
I ran at lunch today because I need to go to a viewing tonight. It is an out and back route, with the first and last mile on trail and old rail road tracks. So I think I did pretty good considering.

My work puts on a 5K run and 2 mile walk every year. We have changed the venue so today at my lunch break I ran the new course with one of my work running friends. I was hoping she would bring her garmin and we could plot the course exactly, but we just estimated where we needed to start and end. I think it was more like 3 1/2 instead of 3.1 (I guess we will need to run it again) She is a slower runner then me (if you can imagine that) so it was just a nice easy run.
3.5 in 36:27
I will get some more miles in and post the total after work. So I ran 4 more miles after work. I think I could have done more, but I had some tummy trouble so I guess it was time to stop. | | Didn't sleep well at all last night. I don't know what it was, I hope I can get a better nights sleep tonight considering I will be running the WBR Friday and Saturday so I know that I won't get much sleep then. I need to go pack all the things I will need as soon as I get my blog done. My plan for tomorrow will be to get-up and get my husband to work... run about 5 miles... meet the team at 10:30 and go up to the meeting spot. I'm runner 9. I have two pretty easy legs, then my last one is all up hill, I think it is about a 7.6% grade. Keeping my fingers crossed I make it OK. :) 6 miles - 54:50 |

| | Don't know quite how to post my miles... I ran with a work team for the WBR and had a pretty fun time. When you are trying to run up a hill at the end of two day with not much sleep I can't say that is was all fun. But a good group of people...no one died so it was pretty fun:) I got up Friday morning and dropped my husband off to work. I went to the gym and ran 5 miles, then showered and meet my team to drive up to the meeting point with our truck A group. I was runner 9 my first leg was 3.1 in the very hot part of the day, at the start it didn't seem to get to me but by about 1/4 to the finish I was starting to slow and felt a bit queezie. But after a bit a some water I felt better. Continued on Saturday

| | My second leg was 6.2 at about midnight. I thought this was fun... nice and cool... bit scary at times with the dark and not being to sure footed, but again I had a great team and support, was about to pass a few runners and felt real good the entire run. Last leg was 3.6, around the golf course and the start up the Ragnar hill. Thought I was doing pretty good... was able to slow jog and power walk... a few of the steeper parts were very painful and I did know if I could do it, but was able to jog the last few yards to pass of the my team mate and was very happy to be done with my legs. Fell asleep at 7:00 last night and did get up until 7:00am I don't think I have every slept like that. Was trying to do a bit of yard work... my muscles are not that sore... it's more that I get tired very fast. Weird feeling to expireance .

Today was one of those runs that makes you realizes why you love to run. And so thankful that I live so close to the mountains. I really needed a changed of scenery so I ran the trails above 22nd street in Ogden. I love these trails and today it felt great!! I was able to take some of the hills faster then I have been able to in the past. Also I think I finished my regular loop faster then I had in a while. I don't know the mileage, I just time myself and estimate the miles. I think next time I might do some longer runs up by Snow Basin. I had a low mileage week, but I guess that's OK. I'm out on furlough from work for 4 weeks so hopefully I can get more lovely morning trail runs in. :) 9 miles - 1:25:46 |

| | I got started later then I wanted so it got a bit warmer then I would have liked but not bad. I ran a shorter loop up in the trails. I struggled a bit more then Saturday but it was still nice, I think I only seen other person on the trails with me, until I got to the lower ones then there was a few more people. I estimate that it is about 61/2 miles, and my time was 1:06:34. Not too bad :) |

| | I ran around the neighborhood today. The first three miles were very difficult, I had nausea and alot of fluttery heart beats. The first three are a steady up hill also so I'm sure that didn't help. But around mile 4-6 I felt pretty good. 7-8 I was getting a bit tired, and heavy legged. Not a real great run. I thought I had planned to run 7.5 but took a few different turns so when I came home and check it out again I was happy to see that I had actually done more. I thought the changes had made it shorter. 8 miles - 1:15:15 |

| | Well today's run was slow, short and I wish I could say easy, but that was not the case. It was all I could do to slog through 5 miles. Don't really know what my problem was today. Tummy was not feeling too good, and just real heavy legs. I'm hoping I can post tomorrow before we head out for a long week end at Bear Lake. I look forward to relaxing with my family. I will run... just don't know how much :)

| | I ran in the trails above 22nd street. I love running there but I had my two oldest grandkids spend the night so I thought I would run a shorter trail. I was feeling pretty good on the way back so I ran up the lower part of Taylor's canyon, seeing if I could make it to the bridge without having to walk... and I did !!! I was huffing and puffing pretty good by the time I got to the bridge but it felt good! Cruised the rolly hill back to the flat part and ran as fast as my tired legs could back to the car. I don't know the exact miles so I just estimated. 7.5 miles 1:12:48 |

| | Ran the trails again, this time I ran all the way to the end, but took a shorter loop back, so I think I was further then Tuesday but not as long as I could have. My legs felt heavy when I was close to the end I had to be careful, this is when I usually take a fall. But I'm glad to say that so far this year I have not had any falls, a few rolled ankles but that is all. :) 8 miles 1:20:19 |

| | Well, I talked my husband onto mountain biking with my while I ran the foothills above Ogden. IT was nice to have him there with me. I ran my usual trail but added a bit more. I pushed myself a bit harder having my husband there with me, because I didn't want to look bad... and he was in back of me on the hills. Any way it was pretty fun I think we will do it again next Saturday. I don't know if anyone else has a none running partner, but sometimes it is a challenge. Most of the time my husband is very supportive, but there are times when I think he feel my running takes too much priority. 8.5 miles 1:21:45 |

| | Ran the trails today, just not as far as I did the other day. I needed to get home so I knew I only had about an hour or so to get my run in. I think it ended up being about 7 miles. But I'm not sure. I had some difficulty at the start, lots of fluttery heart beats that seemed to make it difficult to keep a good breath. Felt a little like I was going to hyperventilate. But after about 20 minutes I seemed to be able to get into a good beat. Still had a couple fluttery beats, but nothing like at the start. After the turning point a decided to run up to the bridge in Taylors canyon, this is a bit of a test that I do to myself to see if I can reach the bridge without having to stop. And today was a good day!! Then it's down a steep rocking part until I get to the rolly polly part back to the car. Love the last part if I'm feeling good I can really open up... it makes me feel like a kid :) 7 miles - 1:14:24 |

| | Happy Pioneer Day to everyone!! I took it pretty easy today, I don't know why but you would think after a month of being able to run in the morning my body would be used to it, but I still have a hard time wanting to get up and run. I think tomorrow I will run the trails, and Saturday is my birthday, I always ran my favorite trails up by snow basin for my birthday run, so I can't decide if I will do that or a 5K. I still need to think about it. 7.2 miles - 1:05 |

| | I ran the trails today, I'm back to work Monday so I will be banished to only being able to run trails on the weekends :( so it was a rather bitter sweet run. It's bitter sweet for other reasons also. Tomorrow is my 45th birthday, this is the age my friend Scott was when he took his life. He was the person that got me to be a runner, so running in the trails where we used to run together so close to a birthday that reminds me of him was difficult, but in some ways good. It's hard to explain. There is a sense of him present with me. My memories of our runs, his smile when I made him walk for a bit because I was out of breath. Him telling me I was doing a good job. These things were all there today. I ran a bit longer trail then I usually do and felt so good, I know it was because I felt him so strong today. So sorry for being a downer here today, sometimes the sting of his death is still very strong. But I know he would be happy that I'm still running the trails. I'm never certain of the exact mile when I run the trails, so this is an estimate. 8.7 miles - 1:25:22 P/S For those that are in Utah. I when to the art exhibit at the USU art museum, it is fantastic... if you have a chance to go you should. www.ufma.utah.edu/monettopicasso

I ran in the morning before work today. I think I will need to run a bit shorter when I do this again, because I was a bit late to work. And today was my first day back since the furlough. Anyway it was a pretty good run. I was luck there was a port-a-john at a park along the way, other then that it was good to get out in the morning.

What a crazy run this morning! I got up to run before work, that means the alarm goes off at 4:30am. AHHHH, it takes me until about 4:50 to get dress and get moving enough to run. I thought I had taken care of all the essentials before I headed out, but about 1.5 into my run I could tell I needed a potty break... So I knew just around the corner was a field... turned off my head light and time and found a bush... no luck... got back to the road, turned on the head light, turned on the time, and started off again. About another mile had the same feeling... found another field... turned off the head light, the time found a bush...no luck again!! AGHHH this is crazy, I always knew I was a person that had trouble with the free and easy feeling of open an outhouse but this was getting painful. Anyway I started out again, forgot to start my time... then realized and started it. Got about 1 mile from home and was hoping I could get there with no trouble.. tried one more time before I got to where the houses start and knew that I would not have any bushes...had a small success and was able to finish my run. When I re-mapped it out it looks like I was just short of 5 miles :( I'll see what I can do to make it an even 5 next time.
I have a massage tonight but I'm still hoping to get a few more miles in after work. So I will up date later. With all the time trouble I don't know how accurate my time is today. Sorry if this blog had too much information :)

| | I ran the trails above 22nd street this morning. I usually love running the trails but today it didn't love me. I felt drained the entire way. It was a struggle to get through the run so needless to say I didn't run the extra part up Taylor's canyon to the bridge as I do when I'm feeling better. I was also in a hurry this morning and forgot my watch, so it's estimated miles and time this morning. My best estimation is 8 miles - 1:23:00 |

| | My run today was OK, I think I'm still not fully recovered from not having enough sleep. Things have been stressful with some new job responsibilities and I think that is also not helping with the way I'm feeling. I go and see my endrocronologist (sorry for the spelling) and maybe he will adjust my medicine and that might be part of the problem so well see tomorrow. Ankle feels a bit better today. I have been kind of acky in my joints and I'm wondering if the weather is making my arthritis act up a bit. But here are the stats of my run. 7 miles - 1:03:02 |

| | Well I took off work today because I had my doctor appointment and also my daughter's first orthodontist appointment. So I ran in the morning before I went to the doctor. It was my six month check up with my endrocronologist. I have been experianceing some fatigue and ackyness mostly in the mornings, and a few other things. So I expected that I would need some adjustments on my medications. I was surprised when he told me all my levels looked good. After talking a while he says he suspects that I'm doing too much. I was stunned! To much! who is not doing too much? I told him that I would not stop running, and he agreed that I shouldn't but I needed to find some more quite/relaxing time. I think he could see how frustrated I was, between work running, family, household things, and my sculpting (which has been very minimal lately) where can I find quite time? I told him I would try, but it seems unlikely to me that there will be any changes soon. I need to look at my schedule and see what I can do. My run was pretty uneventful, about the same miles and about the same time. Felt about the same as the past few days. 7 miles - 1:02:53 |

| | Today felt much better then the past few days. It makes me wonder what changed... my diet... not likely...better sleep? ... some but I still don't think that was it. The ice and meds? Maybe but I was not as consistant with the ice so I dout it. Hormones is most likely what I think it is. I think the body is just so confusing to me sometimes. But hay I'm not going to complain when I run fells pretty good. My work's 5K is tomorrow so the plan is to run 5 before the race then I hope I can run the race if they don't need me to help with things. Will see how it goes. 9 miles - 1:19:39 |

| | Tonight was a pretty uneventful run, not much to say about it. 6.2 miles- 55:38 I do have a question though. How many miles do you get from your shoes. I know Sasha gets more then us mere mortals. But I have been getting some aches when I'm running nothing big but I didn't think my shoes were that old, I even check the sales receipt (I save them til I buy a new pair) for the date. 5/28/08, but when I check my mileage on them it was 510. Should I be able to get more? I have a small hole in the back by my ackeles tendon that is giving me a blister. I guess this is one of the hazards of running more miles them before. Needing to get shoes more often. :) |

Thank heavens that is was a bit cooler today and there was a nice breeze on the trails. Did my regular loop, and then failed miserably when I tried my test of running to the bridge up Taylor's canyon. My legs were very wobbly feeling the rest of the way to the car and even a bit now. Slept in way too late...but it felt so good. Then I begged and pleaded til my husband came with me to the trails. He biked and I ran. I had a hard time this morning I think I will do lower mileage week next week. See if it help me feel a bit better. It was a beautiful morning though and having my hubby with me was great! After running every Saturday for years with my running friend it's wearing on me to run alone on Saturdays. I don't know how accurate my time is, I turned it off when I got the half way point so I could stretch a bit, and forgot to start it when I started running again.

It's weird that I go through this some weeks then have no tummy trouble other weeks. I should probably log what I'm eating to see if there is something that triggers it. But it wasn't too bad. 6.5 miles - 58:32 |

| | I don't have work today or Tuesday. Then I will be to a sculpting class in N. SLC from Wedns.- Sun. So I'm hoping that I can keep the miles going pretty good, but it looks like even this week will be a bit shorter. I guess that depends on how much I run tomorrow. I'm not going to be able to get any more today. It was a nice run this morning at 5:30, I had a viewing of a co-workers daughter to attend to this morning. So sad... she was only 47... it was breast cancer. 5 miles - 44:53:35 |

| | If it was not for the blog today would have been a day that I didn't run, so I did the Hooper Tomato Days 5K. I was going to take my mom with me so she could do the walk but she is 82 and just getting over a cold so I thought it was better to keep her out of the rain. I visited her after on my way home. So the course was flat and just around a big block out in Hooper. I was bib 100 of 100 runners, so not a big run. I had a great run though, around the 2 mile mark I could tell that I was slowly closing the distance between me and the runner in front, so I picked up the pace thinking it would be great to post that I chicked some guy at the race. At around mile 21/2 I was closing in to about 20 yards, at almost the 3 mile mark I was shoulder to shoulder with him, we turned the corner and could see the finish, some guy breazed past us... then the guy I was next to ran to catch him... I could not pick up my pace enough to catch them before the finish :( so mad that I didn't beat him. They have not posted the official times, but if my watch is close, this was my fastest 5K in probably 6 years. :) Pretty Cool Huh!!! 3.1 miles - 24:45

I thought I had figured out a 6 mile loop from my son's apartment but I got a bit off track so I estimate it was about 51/2 miles. | | Today was a crazy day. My son 18 year old son had his wisdom teeth removed today, so I have been taking car of him. In some ways I miss having to take care of kids when they are little and need your attention. I do love to see them grow into interesting young adults, but it sure makes me feel old :( I had a massage, it was nice to get the tightness out of my legs. Then I had a late run. It was not as good as yesterday. I did pretty good, but I hope I do better at the Standard Classic race tomorrow. 6.2 miles - 55:10

Standard Classic 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:51:41, Place overall: 67, Place in age division: 7
Well I ran the Standard Classic 10K today. It was a very nice day and run. My 82 year old Mom came with me and did the two mile walk, so it was a nice way to spend the morning with her. They have not posted the official times, so I will edit this post when they do to be a race post. I think my time was 51:21:45 and I was 7th in my age group. They grouped the ages by ten years so I though that was weird. I must have run pretty hard because I'm tired right now, but I was hoping to do a bit better. Well maybe next time. 6.2 miles 51:21 Edited this as a race report. I guess I started my watch a bit slower, but I corrected the time now. There was 193 10K runners, and 25 women in my age group. I guess that is not too bad.

Then on top of it I needed to have a potty break twice in the first 21/2 mile AGHHHH I feel like I was fighting my body the entire way. Well mile 4 or 5 didn't feel too bad:) I'm hoping that it's still just that my legs have not fully recovered from the race Saturday. I took it slower... but not really by choice LOL

| | Today was a complete running debacle! A while ago a running friend had told me about some new trails in N. Ogden, so I planned on running there. It's closer to my house and I really wanted to run some trails today. I parked at the trail head parking lot just up N. Ogden divide, the sign said Bonneville Shoreline trail, sweet this should be great! right! I start going and pretty soon I realize I'm way too over dressed, I NEVER expose my tummy but after 20 minutes I'm dieing, so I figure I have not seen any one else so it will be safe to take off my shirt and just run with my sports bra. Soon I realize I can not find the trail... I take a path that heads straight up the mountain... thinking it will go in the right direction. I huff up a huge hill, and when it finally levels off and I can run a bit it dead ends!!! AGHHH... I can see a trail below but can't get to it... so down the steep path back to where another path heads off.... I think I'm good now... then the trail heads into a barb wire fence what the heck!.... down the tail again and out to another trail head, and now there are bikers... and I have my shirt tied to my waist... I think... I don't know them so it will be OK and I can ask about how to get on the right trail. As I approach one of the bikers I realize much to my shame he works at my building... oh the shame of it... I tough it out and ask if he knows how to get to the trail that I point to. He tells me he has only gone the other direction. So now I'm determined to get to that trail and have a good run!!! I run down the road a bit until a get to another open area that goes up to the trails.... Ureaka!!! I'm thinking this is it... Climb up the first steep part then I will be happily running this trail. The trail levels off a bit and two to three turns onto the trail and it dead ends!! I'm talking complete dead end to a cliff.... So down I go again... back the way I had started I'm thinking this is crazy I have been out here for 40 minutes and still have not the trail that I think I can run on. So dishearted I slowly jog up the trail that all the biker are taking, that is not going the direction I had planned, I turn around at the 55 minute mark and head back to my car. :( I think I got about 51/2 miles of a run in, but it was a hard effort with all the climing. Today all my kids and grandkids are coming over for birthday party (Husband, oldest son and oldest grandaughter) I hope that everyone else had a better run. Have a great weekend. 5.5 - 1:08:40

Had a very nice run this morning. Didn't sleep very well but I think it was because I knew that I needed to get a run in early. I love cool morning runs, but I still have a hard time in the dark by myself. I guess it was all the scary stories my older sibs told me as a kid LOL but I can spook myself a bit. Anyway, great run... now I will meet up with my family and friends at Franklin Covey field to do the NAMI walk, in remberance of our friend Scott. Take care every one and have a great weekend. Today felt good... I would call it cruz control. LOL This week is going to be a hard week to get my miles in. I fly out to Ohio on Thursday and will be back on Tuesday. | | Today was about the same as yesterday but I incorporated the 5 accelerations that Sasha said I needed to try. I figured I would do it today since I will be traveling later this week. There really was no rhyme or reasoning to my plan. When I felt like it I accelerated for a minute then backed off. The first one I was a bit to easy on myself. The middle ones were better and by the last one I was ready to not do any more. Then I finished slowly about 3/4 a mile. I hope this was good. I will keep trying to incorporate this into my runs. 1:12:01

So here is my plan, I will run in the morning before I fly out to Ohio. I don't know if I will have access to a computer so. I will keep track of my miles and times and post if I can't post while on my trip I will post when I get home. Best of luck to all those who are running St. George. 7 miles - 1:04:18

Not sleeping well on this trip, but when do you sleep well in a strange bed, needless to say I was in a pull out bed so it was even more difficult to sleep. I did make it on my run with no trouble found all the streets, but I had to run earlier then yesterday, luckily I had my head light. I think the stress from the classes, the lack of good sleep, and also eating food that I'm not used to made for a very difficult run. My back is hurting quite a bit and just not feeling good. Some of the artists at the class were sick so I wonder if I'm coming down with something also. I hope I get feeling better this week. When I got home, I found out that the computer at home is on the fritz. So my son in law is fixing it. I don't think it will be opperational for a week :(

Today was a pretty good run, if the rest of the week feels like this run it should be a pretty good week. I have more doll classes Thurs-Saturday so I hope I can work my runs into the schedule. The good thing is I just need to travel to West Valley. I was going to stay in SLC again with my son, but my one friend that lives in Kaysville wanted a ride, so it just seemed better that I drive back every night. It will make running a bit harder since I will have to be getting up eariler. But I'm sure I can do it.

Did 7 miles, after about 10 minutes did my first acceleration for 1 min. Felt fine, infact at that point could have kept going at that speed a bit longer. Like before there was really no method to how I do the accelerations, just pick up the pace when I feel like it, for 1 minute. By the last one I was getting pretty tired and happy that it was only one minute. Ran about 1 mile after the last one for my seven miles. Pretty good run all in all. :)

| | Well today the alarm went off at 4:40am so I could run before work, because my daughter had a band concert tonight. I got dressed and then looked for my headlight, my streets are way to dark to run without it. I searched for so long that I realized that I would not be able to get a run in, so I ended up doing a laundry. :) When I woke my husband to get ready for work, he asked how my run was, when I told him I didn't get it in because I could not find my head light, he fessed up that he had borrowed it to get some projects done and left it out in the garage. Needless to say I had to get my run in after work, I was able to get five miles in before I had to get home, then the poor people next to me just had to put up with being next to a stinky person LOL 5 miles - 45:08

There was another couple about 1 1/2 miles later, but they stopped and walk right as I got to them so I guess that is not an offical one :) Everything felt pretty good, had one potty stop and one quick streatch. 8.7 miles - 1:14:45

Had a very rough night's sleep, can't really say what caused it. Well I guess I should say I don't know why I woke, but I know that it was my dear hubby's snoring that was making it hard to get back to sleep. I knew I had to get my run in before work, I'm doing stuff with the grandkids tonight. So even though it might have been more fun to shoot myself in the foot, I got up and did 5 miles. I hope I sleep better tonight, I'm going to try and run some trails tomorrow.

Today my run was pretty good. I had to stop at mile 6 for a potty break. Then my tummy really didn't like the last two miles very much, so I slowed down a bit. 8 miles - 1:12:07

| | Tonight was not a good run. I had too much tummy trouble :( I think it was the pringle chips that I was craving at lunch, you know the spicy green ones Yummmm I don' think my tummy likes them, also when I eat too much sugar free gum or mints my tummy seems to have trouble. I never thought I was a person that had tummy issues but lately I seem to. But I think most of it is self inflicted, if I could just eat a good diet I'm sure I would not have as much trouble. 6 miles - 54:04

Well I ran today on my lunch break, I thought I could get in 6 miles, but the path had construction on it so the last little bit was blocked. I tried to make up the miles but didn't quite do it. It was a pretty nice run, legs got a bit heavy at the end.

| | Today did not feel good... my right shin is hurting, I think I might be getting shin splints. I had heavy legs and crampy tummy too. I don't think I'm sick, I have been tracking this a bit and I think it is hormones ...but the shin thing is new :( Just took it slow and tried to get though the miles. 5 miles - 45:49

| | I really need Marion to rub off some of her Polly Anna attitude on me, I've been rather grumpy the past few days. I talked my hubby into power hiking with my this morning, Then I ran just a bit after I think all in all it was about 5 miles worth of stuff, not sure if I should put it in the miles though. But my shin feel OK not worse but a bit better. I didn't time our hiking/running because I knew it would be slow. I hope next week is better.

I ran on my lunch break today at work. When I ran the other day my usual path was under some construction, I had complained to one of my team members that also worksout on lunch quite often. He told me about a new path that I could run on. Most of my coworkers bike at lunch. So it was 99% trails and I enjoyed it very much. One thing got my confused... on the way out there was a tree that you had to duck under, and on my way back I never seen it so I thought I had run a different path back, when I was explaining that to my co-worker, he told me that he had run out to the tree and cut it down... so that explained why it was not there on my way back LOL. I was a bit slow today... I think because it was a windy trail with some slippery areas.

| | Well God blessed me with many things but gracefulness is not one of them. Sometimes at work I split my time between two buildings. When I do I ride the van that drives back and forth between the buildings all day, I was getting out of the van at the end of the day... the heal of my shoe caught the step and down I went on my right knee. AHGGGG how embarrassing.!!! I wish I could say this doesn't happen often but that is not the case. So now my knee and my shins are hurting. My right shin was hurting quite a bit for the first mile, then it seemed to mellow out. At about the 41/2 mark it started hurting again, I was hoping for 6 miles but I will settle for the 5.2. I'm getting new shoes on my lunch break tomorrow and Icing my shins tonight... tomorrow at work, until they feel better :) 5.25 miles - 47:47

| | So I got a killer deal, I went to get new runners and ended up with new trail runners also...Anthony at Peak Performance in Ogden is the bomb :) If you ever need a good hook up on shoes go see him, tell him I sent you :) Well Anthony invited me to go for a run with him and some other runners tonight. Trail running at 5:00pm, yep by mile 2 it was dark. I was so nervous, I trip getting out of a van... trails at night I was certain I would end up falling off the cliffs. But nope YAHOOO I did so good. Except for the fact that I was the slowest of the group. :( But at least I came back without any major damage. What a way to break-in new trail runners :) 8 miles - 1:28

| | So I had a terrible nights sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night (about 12:30) with a terrible headache. I thought I might be dehydrated so I drank a bunch of water... then took some aleve, but still after 21/2 hour of being awake my head still hurt. I finally got to sleep a bit later, then when I woke for work, my head hurt but not to the extent it did in the night. I took off work a bit early because they were selling some excess property and I wanted a desk for my art room. Then when I got home I decided to try a run. My right shin is still a bit touchy so I thought I would do five and take it slow. It felt pretty good and I ended up doing 6 and the last mile felt better then the first!! If I had all the tech gear I would probably have done a negative split, but I can't say for sure. I don't think it's shin splints, when I had them many years ago they hurt when you pushed on your shins, Mine is not like that now, it aches but not nessicarily when you push on it, I don't know what is going on :( 6 miles - 54:03

| | So yesterday was a total bust... I was helping my husband with project at our oldest daughters house. My shin had been bugging and I wasn't sure running the roads was such a good idea. My friend Anthony had told me they would be running Sunday so I met up with them and we ran Mueller's Canyon, this was 61/2 miles up then back down. I had a great time but... I hate so much being the slowest of the group. Aghhh!!! It sucks so much !!! I was happy that I didn't fall or have any major trouble besides being slow.

| | Well tonight was pretty good, my shin is still bugging :( I have been sleeping pretty good but last night had weird dreams that I was getting plastic surgery (nose job, something with my eyes and forehead) and then I woke up with a head ache that lasted until about 10:00am LOL I'm sure there is some deep root weird thing in my phycy that this dream means something... but it was weird. I won't be running tomorrow, I'm going to my grandson's last wrestling meet, then to the nutcracker with my mom, sisters, daughter, grandaughter and neices. | | After two days with out running I thought I would try to see if my shin felt any better. My friends had invited me to run Ben Lomond Peak (sorry for the spelling), but that would be about 41/2 hours and I just didn't think I wanted to push myself that much. So I ran the same path that I did last Thursday when I ran the trails at night. It was pretty nice. My shins didn't hurt the entire run... but started hurting when I was walking around a bit after. Hmmm wonder what is going on. I didn't time myself, but I figured I was at about 10 minute miles. 8 miles.

| | Did not want to run today, I don't know what my problem is, but I finally beat down my inner two year old that was having my inner temper tantrum about running. I though I will just go and run one mile and see how I feel... one turned into two then eventually I slogged through 5 miles. By the end I was OK with how I felt about the run... Don't know what my deal has been lately, I think I need a new mindset about my running... maybe Santa can bring me that. 5 miles - 46:10

| | Well tonight I deliberately slowed down, I have been having motivational trouble by the end of the week so I was thinking if I slowed it down, and took it a bit easier I might have more gumption for the weekend. But I have to say that it was not fun, I wanted to run faster and at times had a hard time holding back, I also didn't take any anti-inflammatory meds. tonight and my knee was a bit achy, not bad... just annoying. 7 miles - 1:06:27

The one guy that invited me was nice enough to run with my, but I was still pushing myself to at least look like I could handle it. By the time I don't think it was that much faster then I normally run, but for some reason I had a hard time. It was a slight down hill, then we turned around to have the slight up hill on the way back AGHHH!!! I felt like a cow :( 5.6 miles - 50 min.

So I did three more miles on the eliptical. I think I will try to do a bit more cross training until I go to the doctor in a couple of weeks. I also went to a natural heath place today and had some scans and stuff done... I guess will see if some of this will help me feel better. Did n't time my run today.
