5 on the elliptical, the .75 in my stocking feet on the treadmill. The soles of my feet were a bit tender after this run, I might try to run with my shoes on tomorrow. I also need to do more weights tomorrow.
So I'm signed up to run the Ogden marathon in two weeks, and I know that I can't do it, but I think I will be able to do the 5K. So do you think it is wrong to not pick up my timing chip, then run the 5K with my bib? I don't really care about my time because I know I'm not going to be fast. I just really want to participate in some part of the day, and I don't want to spend another 30 dollars. So what do you think... is that wrong?

I don't know what to tell you. Do they have different color bibs for the different races, or something like that? Would it be obvious that you were running a different race than you registered for? In any case, I don't think you should wear your marathon timing chip if you run the 5K.

Also, I think you should wear shoes for your next TM run. I'm all for barefooting it, but you don't want to do too much too soon. If you're feet are feeling tender, give them a little rest to recovery.

I have never really liked the TM for barefoot; makes my feet kind of sore. My gym wont let me do it anyway; against the rules!

Can you just call the Race Director and switch to the 5K? I'm a Race Director, and I'd let you do it!

Carolyn, I was planning on wearing shoes today... don't know how much running I will do, I was planning on getting a bit more weights done.

I don't think I will even pick up the timing chip, just the bib... I was thinking I could fold it to just show the number, and not have too much trouble.

Auntieem, I tried, but they will not exchange me for another race.

Nice to see that you're able to get some miles in! I think doing the 5K is just fine, you paid the $ and tried to switch, just do what feels good. I wouldn't feel bad about it though.

I can see them not letting you go from the 5k to the marathon, but not letting you switch from the marathon to the 5k is ludicrous!
