OK... I'm not doing this as a race report because I was not officially timed. I pulled off the timing chip from my marathon bib, then ran the 5K with my friend and her daughter. So I met Sue (my running friend) and her daughter at a store then hubby drove us to the start area. There is not alot of parking there so it worked out nice. We huddled into the middle of the people and waited for the start. I told Sue there was no need to stick together because I knew that I would be slow. So when the gun went off they took off, and I started my slow run. It just felt fantastic to be a part of it, I have to say I was so happy to be out there. Cardio wise I felt fantastic and just wanted to GO, but I knew that my knee would not like it so I just kept my slow pace. About at the half way mark I caught up to Sue and her daughter... funny how young adults are... they think they can run without much training. Sue's daughter was having trouble and they were walking. So we did a run walk thing to and finished all together!! It really felt wonderful!!! I didn't time myself, didn't wear my gamin and made an effort not to look at the time, because I didn't want to get sad that I was so slow, I think I was running about 10:30 mm.

Sunday family decided to hike to Timpanogos cave... I probably should not have done this... it's a 1.6 mile hike but I can't remember the grade, I think my son said we gained a foot of ellivation for every five steps we took. Anyway going up was no trouble, but come down really bugged my knee and I'm paying the price for it today. I will have to take it easy on it for a couple of days and hope it gets feeling better.

I'm glad you took it easy on the race. It sounds like it was a fun time with friends.

I hope the downhill from Timp didn't mess up your knee to much and that it feels better soon.

I'm so glad the 5K felt GREAT! I hope the knee starts feeling better after the hike. That is a nice elevation gain hike, and the downhill is the hardest on that knee!!

Sounds like you were able to have a great time in the race! Good decision, I think, not to have a timing chip.

How's the knee feeling today?
