Have you seen those Windows 7 comercals where the person thinks back and in their mind and they are much more attractive. That is probably how this run was... I just could not stand the thoughts of being in the gym on the elliptical or treadmill today so I talked my daughter into doing a run/walk with me. She wants to do a 5K soon and has not run much so I knew having her there with me would keep me from running too much or too fast on my knee. We did a 5 min run/jog (averaged about a 10:40mm) followed by a 3 min walk. Repeated 4 times for a total of 20 minutes of running. My knee bugged just the tiniest of bits at the first, but by the third/four run it was feeling a bit better. So in my mind I was an olimpic runner, but the reality was an old lady shuffle LOL. I have to say it felt fantastic to be out doing it, even if it was slow. Seeing my daughter want to start running is great! Most 17 year old girls can't stand hanging with their moms, but she really wants hang out and run with me.

Tomorrw I will be on my own, my daughter has some after school things. So I won't run even on the treadmill and give my knee a break. Plan on high intencity on the elliptical for 5-6 miles. Then some upper body weights and abs.

You're funny. When I was running fast repeats on the track on Monday, I imagined myself an olympian crossing the finish line. You're a great mom too.

And thank goodness we don't always imagine ourselves as we appear! LOL! Probably you looked somewhere between the Olympian and the old lady shuffle. You cracked me up.

My 17 year old daughter seems to like my company too; we are lucky I think. I think my daughter is one of the most amazing people that I know.

You guys are lucky! My kids HATE running :( Well, except my 6 year old who wants to go. I need to find a way to have him come along :) ...while he still loves me ;D

Great run Lori! I bet you looked HOT! ;) I do love those windows comercials :)

Thanks ladies... Carolyn, funny how we all use our imaginations to get us through the run.

Aunteem, we are very blessed! My kids are all amazing people, but I think now that my youngest is the only one at home she feels the need to stay more bonded. I love it :)

Marion you are funny, I know for sure I did not look HOT... but that is OK with me too.

Nice work Lori!! I'm sure you were looking great - just maybe in slow motion :)

You are lucky with your daughter - I hope my daughter begins to like hanging out with me more as she gets older!

It must have been great to be outdoors exercising. That's cool your daughter wants to do a 5K.

I often try to channel various runners while I run. I picture myself running like Ryan Hall, or Anton Krupicka. But when I come back to reality, the contrast between my actual form and theirs is too much, and my head explodes.
