I've been married to my husband for 29 years. We have four children and four grandkids.  I'm the department secretary for an automotive safety company. In my spare time (??? spare time???) I sculpt as a hobby and hope one day to do it as a career. www.lorimetcalfdolls.blogspot.com

Had a pretty crazy day… when you add just one more thing to your day it seems to make it all too busy! Got a slow and easy six miles in after my doctor appointment, it felt pretty good to just take it easy and zone out on the treadmill. The NP doctor that I go to is in SLC so I was late getting a run in. I didn’t want to run in the dark so I went to the gym I was surprised at how packed the gym is in the evening. I had to wait for a few minutes to get a treadmill.

The doctor tweaked a few of my meds. so we’ll see if it helps. Even though I have been feeling soooo much better. It’s so nice not to have the muscle aches and fatigue that I used to have. It’s a new experience to go to an NP doc. they are so different then standard doctors, after talking with her about some things I could do to help with some weight loss, she said “You also need to learn to love and embrace to new middle age body” At first I wanted to say “No way… to heck with that” I rethought about how true her words are. We really need to learn to love ourselves no matter where we are… maybe if I quite hating my body so much it will love me back… and we will heal and loose weight J

Hopefully this new attitude will also help me with the new sculpt I have been struggling with, at first she seemed to be coming together so well, but now I may need to amputate her leg to get things to work right. Oh and I made a big mistake going into a fabric store the other day… Remember I got a new sewing machine? I have been wanting to make some new projects, do I went to get some fabric…. I swear it’s like a drug….all the colors, patterns and textures!!! I was out of control…. I walked out 2 hours later and almost 100 dollars poorer. I think I need a 12 step program to help with my sculpting/crafting addiction.

You make me laugh! I can totally see you going crazy in the fabric store. I think we all have crazy addictions like that!!

Nice work on the run...your NP has some good advice. I'd like to learn to live that way as well, but it's easier said than done!

Good luck with the sculpture, I'm sure it will turn out beautiful!

It sounds like you're finding a great new attitude. I really think that attitude, not external circumstances, makes the difference between happy and unhappy people.

I'm the same way about fabric stores. The worst is when I go in a quilt shop because their fabric is so wonderful and it's $8-9/yard.
