Tonight I needed a change of pace. They have been working on the lower parts of the river parkway, and I had seen they have paved part by my work so I decided to see how they were coming. The first 3/4 a mile are on the gravel road next to the railroad tracks. This set of tracks are not used so it is not dangerous to run there. Just kind of a pain with the uneven ground and stuff. So after the steep drop from the railroad track there is a small wooded area. They have graded the ground getting it ready to pave so it was fun to run. The underpass of 31st street is cement then they paved all the way (3/4 mile) to the other set of tracks. These tracks are used by Union Pacific and Frontrunner, there are signs to not trespass but I climbed up then hurried across, then a bit more and you cross the bridge into Fort Buenaventura. This is a fun place to run, nice a wooded and green, there is a pretty pond/lake by the fort and there was even a few teepees set up. I even had a close incounter with a racoon LOL. Legs felt pretty heavy and stiff. Right hip and shin were a bit buggy. But I took it slower and enjoyed the run for the most part of it. 5 miles - 47:36 laps: 9:45, 9:12, 9:51, 9:29, 9:18
