My garmin to a crapper at mile 14.5 so I was waiting for the results to be posted so that I would have all the information.
Not really the results I was hoping for. I felt pretty good for most of the marathon, I can't really say what it was that slowed me down, miles 20-24 were probably the hardest for me. I usually love running this portion of the marathon, but I'm sure I was much slower here then I had planned. I think (didn't have the garmin to tell me) I pick up the pace the last 3 or so miles. Mostly because I just really needed to be over with it. My only thoughts at that moment were not to stop because it was just make it even longer.

It was a beautiful day, and I had a great time with Marion and Carolyn! It was so exciting to have Carolyn BQ!

I can tell I have some work to put in if I'm going to try and get a better time on my next marathon. From the muscles that are sore I can see where the work needs to be placed.

So all in all beautiful day... great to meet up with FRB friends! But a bit disapointed with my results.

Congratulations Lori! You did great, don't be disappointed, just remember how much faster you are than a whole lot of people - 24th in your age group is fabulous, especially after only sleeping 4 hours the night before the race! Good job!

You ran wonderfully, Lori!!! Look at that time. That's a BQ for my age; if you've been married 29 years it can't be *that* far off a BQ for you either! And you did double duty, too, hosting people and all. Congratulations on your marathon! I do not regret missing Ogden except for the fun it would have been to hang out with you girls! Enjoy your recovery. You have got to change that blog title now-- it's embarrassing! Who knows when I'll ever be that fast! xxoo

Thanks ladies...it was a pretty good day lots of fun people to hang out with!! I do love the whole race feeling once I get started. I'm usually too nervous at the beginning, but once I start it's a great feeling to be in the middle of.

Sno, to BQ I need to be at 4 hours, so I'm still need alot of work to accomplish this goal!

Just so I don't embarrass you I will change my blog title... but I still think you are inspiring :)

Thanks, Lori.

5 minutes is not that much, girl! I've got a lot more than that to gain. Let's get it done! :D

Congrats on a great race. I can't imagine anything better than a full marathon with great friends.

Sorry I missed the BBQ, we were going to swing by with cookies in hand on our way home, but Scott's problems changed the course of the day.

GREAT RACE!!!! That is a hard course, you did great!!!

Are your quads killing???

NIce job Lori!! and thanks a TON for having us (stink and all) over for a wonderful afternoon in your BEAUTIFUL home!! You did a great job, but I understand your feeling...weird how a great race can still feel yucky!

You'll be qualifying for Boston before you know it, you are an awesome, smart and dedicated runner!!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 19:20:26 from 71.229.164.25

4:05 is a great time, Lori. And I'm sure you can shave 5 minutes off your time with a little effort. Go qualify at Top of Utah and let's run Boston together next year.

Thanks for having me over. It was AWESOME! Your house is beautiful and your husband is a great guy.

Lori - change your blog title back. The new one is lame and everyone wants their inner-Snoqualmie. LOL. JK about the new one being lame. Great job on the race. Almost a 4 hour time. That puts me to shame.

From snoqualmie on Mon, May 18, 2009 at 16:47:12 from 67.171.56.164

Don't listen to Burt. Evaluating Training Plans is the new Inner Snoqualmie.

Nice job on the marathon! You sure race a lot. I'm going to have to try to meet up with some of you locals at the next race. Enjoy some well deserved down time.

Thanks again for the info about the half-marathon course, it was very helpful.
