Had a hard time getting up and moving today. Don't really know what was my problem. It was about 27 degrees when the race started... pretty chilly. Didn't start feeling good, until about mile 3. It was funny, an older lady passed me about at this point... I'd say she was in her mid 60's. The thing was she had perfect Farah Fawcett hair, all curled and every thing. I kept thinking to myself. "Did she get up early enough to do her hair'? I mean, I'm lucky if I brush my teeth let alone do my hair. And then another thing I was thinking... All these ladies that have entire outfits that match, right down to their socks, hat, sunglasses. You name it they are fashion devas! It bogges my mind. I'm hoping my socks match each other let alone my entire outfit

Any way started feeling better just past mile 3, I think my breakfast and meds. had finally kicked in. The hills after mile 6 were rather anoiying, but I was able to pick up my pace the last mile and pass many of the people that I had be teetering back and forth with. Including Farah Fawcette LOL I think I passed her at mile 5. I don't know about you guys, but I have a hard time leaving it all on the road, if you know what I mean. I can't be totally spent for the rest of the day. My DH and family expect me to still be functioning. In fact I will be planting trees later today. Also I have noticed that when I leave myself feeling depleted I end up eating too much, I think I'm trying to get some energy back or something. Any way it's just not good for me.

that was a fantastic race :) You did great passing all of those fashion plates! Forget them all.. You ROCKED! The meds and food do take a bit of time to kick in. Makeup should be banned from all races :)

Nice race. That hill did get annoying, but the downhill was great.

Very interesting race report. And great job in your race. I don't think I've ever placed in single digits in my division.

I make absolutely no attempt to do hair or make up or come up with matching clothes when I run. Occasionally when I'm out running on weekday mornings near my house, I see the same woman with her fancy hair-do, full makeup, and color coordinated velour workout clothes. She cracks me up.

I'm glad that I finally done with the first three races in this series, I will enjoy the last two up in Eden/Liberty area. It's beautiful up there and always a fun place to run.

Carolyn... just keep running until your as old as me and you will be placing in the single digits! I think it's just process of elimination :)

GREAT JOB!!! Those last two races are in beautiful areas, I would be looking forward to them, too! I agree about leaving it all on the road, I prefer to be able to walk later!
